Workshop: Time Management | As part of the Test Guidance Orientation Program
A specialized educational workshop designed for the student counselor, introducing students to time management skills and how to utilize them to improve academic performance and prepare for exams, within the Test Guidance Orientation Program issued by the General Directorate of Student Guidance at the Ministry of Education.
Workshop Content
The workshop consists of 35 professional presentation slides covering seven main topics:
The first topic reviews the concept of time management and its importance in a student's life, answering the question: Why does time management change your life? Supported by practical statistics and figures, and includes an evaluation activity that measures the student's level of time management before the session begins.
The second topic reveals the most common time traps such as phone use, social media, and procrastination, presenting statistics on phone usage and its impact on study time, along with immediate and practical solutions to overcome each trap.
The third topic explains the priority principle through the Eisenhower matrix with its four sections, including a practical activity where the student classifies their actual daily tasks on the matrix.
The fourth topic discusses building a successful daily schedule through seven practical steps, presenting a proposed daily timetable model for high school students, in addition to the Pomodoro technique and the Two-Minute rule.
The fifth topic offers six scientifically supported study techniques, visually comparing active recall and passive rereading.
The sixth topic presents the most effective digital and non-digital tools for time management, from apps like Forest, Notion, and Anki to daily task notebooks and weekly planners.
The seventh topic concludes the workshop with building a SMART goal, designing a personal weekly schedule, a 21-day habit tracker, and a pledge card written by the student themselves.
